IFB Data, Tools, and Metrics Theme

IFB Theme Leader, Franzi Schrodt of the University of Nottingham, has announced an 18-month Postdoctoral Research Associate position within the IFB Data, Tools, and Metrics Theme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Principal Investigator: Develop a comprehensive roadmap for biodiversity data quality and quantity tailored for nature and biodiversity finance.
  • Data Analysis and Review: Review existing standards and international data infrastructure, and align these with the data needs identified across the IFB programme.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with the IFB team and external bodies, including the International Advisory Panel on Biodiversity Credits and the Biodiversity Credit Alliance.
  • Research and Publications: Contribute to academic journals and grey literature, focusing on innovative financial solutions for biodiversity conservation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders outside academia, including finance institutions, policy makers, and the general public.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Expertise: Strong understanding of international biodiversity data standards and/or nature finance, with a keen interest in linking these fields.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in international consortia.
  • Enthusiasm: Passionate about developing high integrity and high effectiveness nature finance markets.
  • Initiative and Creativity: Ability to identify new research areas, develop innovative research methods, and expand their research portfolio.
