19th March 2026, University of Edinburgh

IFB Leaders Dr Hannah Rudman and Professor Marc Metzger, of the University of Edinburgh, are working with The Scottish Forum on Natural Capital, and NatureScot to host a full‑day event on 19th March designed to showcase how nature finance in Scotland can move from vision to delivery.

The first half of the day will set the scene with keynote reflections via video conference from Màiri Gougeon MSP, insights on Taskforce for Nature Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) framework adoption by business. There will be updates from public sector investment-readiness programmes, with opportunities for attendees to hear about and talk with investable nature restoration projects.

The second half will focus on action, featuring insurer and investor perspectives – what and why do they need to see to work with nature restoration projects, and case studies from landscape scale initiatives and those already attracting private investment.

The day will also serve as a platform for key announcements shaping Scotland’s nature finance landscape, while networking opportunities over good food and beverages throughout will enable participants to connect, exchange knowledge, and leave energised with new contacts and ideas to drive momentum into 2026.

The event sold out in 40 minutes once booking was opened.

The programme is available on the Nature Capital Scotland Website.

The event follows the very successful Financing an Environment for Wales Leaders' Summit (co-hosted by IFB) held at the end of last year. A number of delegates from that meeting are making the journey to Edinburgh.
